Increase CD Ratio: DDC to banks

JAMMU, Mar 3: To review the performance of banks in regard to achievement under Annual Credit Plan of 2015-16 and also to review the position of Deposits, Advances and CD Ratio, a meeting of District Consultative Committee/ District Level Review Committee (DCC/DLRC) for the Quarter ended December 2015 of Jammu district was convened by the Lead Bank office, State Bank of India, Jammu under the chairmanship of District Development Commiss-ioner Simrandeep Singh here today.
Lead District Manager, Yash Pal Bhagat informed the chairman that the position of KCC reconciliation of Jammu District has been completed during the BLBC meetings held in the month of February 2016 and as on January 31, out of 67698 cases sponsored by Agriculture Department, 54873 cases have been sanctioned, 12163 cases returned to the department and 662 cases are pending with the banks.
In view of the reports, DDC directed all concerned to clear the cases awaiting sanction under KCC and to target to keep the pendency of cases for sanction to a minimum.
It was further informed that a significant progress has been made by the banks with the collaboration of Agriculture Department in the Quarter ended December 2015. An amount of Rs 4.477 crore has been sanctioned and disbursed in KCC cases, which is highest in the FY 2015-2016.
Lead District Manager also informed that as on December 31, the Deposits of the district were at Rs 26633.43 crore and Advances at Rs 8253.53 crore. The CD ratio of the district was 30.99%.
The chairman stressed to increase the CD Ratio by forming a committee of the members from major banks and government department under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner. This committee will meet at least once in three months.
Further the chairman suggested that the Banks may also involve Government department for conducting FLC camps so that such camps become a platform for achieving synergy between Governm-ent department and Banks.
Chairman emphasized that awareness camp regarding banking facilities for education loans should be conducted regularly and instructed the major banks to hold education loan camps in higher secondary schools and colleges. He further suggested that seminars may be held in coordination with the education department so the information about the scheme percolates down to the grass root level.
Later, DDC also chaired the District level RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institute) Advisory Committee meeting for the quarter ending December 2015.
