JAMMU, Oct 20: All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit Non Camp Welfare Union in an appeal to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner has urged him to get the mistakes rectified in voters list.
The Chairman of the Committee D N Kissu demanded that a special team of the Election Department be deputed to take the photographs of all the eligible voters in order to issue election identity cards to them as per past practice.
He also demanded that the voter lists and requisite forms be made available at Durga Nagar as well which inhabits a sizeable number of displaced people.
He said the names of bonafide and genuine voters are missing in voter lists and this has led to a lot of public resentment and the same needs to be put to right. He alleged that only a formality is being performed on the name of revision of voter lists and the same should be avoided.
