RAJOURI, Oct 20: Chief Education Officer, Rajouri, M L Sharma today placed two teachers of Govt Primary School, Khettan village under suspension when he found school locked during mid day.
Complaints from the village Panchayat members of the area were received that teachers of this school hardly visit this school and it remains often closed and that the teachers come hardly once a week just for making entries in the attendance register and then leave without teaching.
They sought intervention of the Chief Education Office as the concerned ZEO also failed to take cognizance of the matter as villager had informed him about the activities of the teachers. They said that study of their children was badly affected with the closure of school.
Upon this, the CEO along with two Education Officers, paid surprise visit to the school at around 12 noon and found school locked. He then interacted with the locals in a meeting with them. He placed both the teachers- Shahida Parveen and Mohd Iqbal under suspension. The CEO further wrote to the Director School Education Jammu about strict disciplinary action against these teachers.
