SAO PAULO (Brazil), Mar 8: Eleven people were killed by gunfire in a six-hour span across one Sao Paulo neighbourhood, police have said, as they investigate possible links between the murders.
The individuals were shot at four different sites overnight Thursday to Friday in the southern Jardim Sao Luiz neighbourhood where five people were also injured, the Ministry of Public Security said yesterday.
Investigators said five of the dead had been convicted of robbery and drug trafficking. Police hypothesised that the deaths may be linked to organised crime.
Authorities, helped by a witness, were able to distribute an image of one of the suspects, officials said. (AGENCIES)
