JAMMU, June 4: Emphasizing the importance of modern railway infrastructure in accelerating regional development, promoting tourism and improving public connectivity, MLA Nagrota Devyani Rana said that the sanctioning of a Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Manwal Railway Station will strengthen passenger facilities and contribute to the area’s overall growth.
As the Ministry of Railways has approved construction of a 3-metre-wide Foot Over Bridge at Manwal Railway Station on the Jammu Tawi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway section under the Capital Works Programme at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 crore, Devyani said that the proposed bridge will provide a safe and efficient crossing facility for commuters, students, senior citizens and other passengers using the station.
She said the project is expected to address long-standing concerns regarding pedestrian movement across railway tracks and reduce inconvenience faced by daily travellers.
The MLA observed that the project marks another step towards strengthening railway infrastructure in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency. She said such initiatives help create a safer and more accessible transport network while supporting the broader objective of balanced regional development.
Devyani further stated that railway infrastructure serves as a key driver of tourism and economic growth, particularly in areas witnessing increasing passenger movement. She expressed confidence that the proposed facility would improve the overall travel experience at Manwal Railway Station and enhance safety standards for railway users.
She reiterated her commitment to pursuing developmental projects in the constituency and coordinating with concerned departments to address public requirements effectively.
