Improve power supply in Sunderbani: MLC

JAMMU, May 29:   Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary and spokesman Ravinder Sharma ( MLC) has expressed serious concern over the power scenario in Sunderbani  and adjoining areas urged the authorities concerned to take immediate steps.
In a press statement here, Congress legislator said that the people of the area are   expressing great resentment by lodging strong protests in Sunderbani because of power situation. He said that the irregular cuts and low voltage had adversely affected the water supply system as well.
Mr Sharma pointed out that the installation of 50 MVA transformer at Kalakote last year  following strong protests by the people  and the real demands of the representatives was expected to address the problem of low voltage and disruption in power  due to over loading. But it has been observed that  due to certain technical shortcomings, the benefit of 50 MVA transformer is not being provided to the public by concerned authorities. The MLC who took up the issue with the minister incharge Power requested him to review the system with the concerned authorities in order to improve the supply position.
