JAMMU, Mar 27: An impressive procession was taken out by The Jammu and Kashmir Joint Churches Fellowship on the eve of Good Friday and Easter today.
The Good Friday is following on March 29 the day when Jesus Christ offered himself on the Cross as sacrifice for the sins of mankind and Easter falling on March 31 (Sunday) is the day when Jesus Christ rose again after death. Different churches of Jammu city and around participated in the procession. Various tableaux formed the part of procession depicting the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Choirs from churches sang song about the life, death and rising again from the dead.
Scenes of Jesus Christ carrying the cross and being beaten by the Roman soldiers were the main attraction of the procession. People appreciated every part of the procession. The market associations welcomed the rally at many places and provided refreshment to the participants.
The procession was organized under the chairmanship of Shoukat Peter, Pastor Musraf Bhatti, Robin Bhatti, Rohil Mattoo, Pastor Younas Masih, Pastor Novamanikam, Pastor George Kutti, Pastor Stonius, Pastor Anthony Teji, Pastor John Roques Bhatti, Pastor Raju, Pastor Anthony Poras, Pastor Lovvy, Pastor Paulos, Pastor Lans, Pastor Thomas Paul, Pastor Rahul, Pastor Zion, Pastor Daud, Pastor Tarseem Masih, Pastor Hazar and Arun, Pastor Anoos Gill, Pastor Vicky Khonja, Pastor Stephen Gill, Pastor Dapinder, Victor Nowab, Pastor Joginder, Camres David and Titus Gill.
After conclusion of the procession president JKJCF expressed heartiest compliments on behalf of the Christian community to the administration, Police, Traffic Police, Market Associations, public , JMC for their support and cooperation.
