JAMMU, Nov 19: J&K Physically Challenged Welfare Association has demanded implementation of Right for Person with Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016 in J&K Union Territory without any delay.
In a handout the Association president, Ch Kamal Singh has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of J&K to get the problems of physically challenged people solved as they have been suffering for years but none of the governments has ever paid any attention towards their issues.
He said in the absence of RPWD Act 2016 in J&K physically challenged people are suffering a lot as there is none to listen their grievances.
Singh also demanded monthly pension of Rs. 5000 to all the physically challenged people and four per cent reservation to them from grass root Panchayat to all the other sections of government.
Free travel facility for the physically challenged people was also demanded.
