Implement Food Security Act properly: Dimple

JAMMU, Dec 18: The activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement held a protest rally which started from Janipur High Court road  and after passing through New Plot and Rehari culminated at Sarwal Chowk against the CAPD department for the implementation of the NFS Act in the State.
Addressing the protesters Sunil Dimple, JWAM president, said that they have been fighting for the last three years for the implementation of the NFS Bill in the State.
He said in the NFSB there are some shortcomings and deficiencies in this bill and the State Government should sort out those shortcomings before its implementation in the State.
Dimple demanded that 10 kg atta per member should be given to each family, as 5 kg per member  is not sufficient, and is like mockery of the ration card holders and all the ration card holders of BPL, APL families should get the benefit of the food security bill.
He also demanded for the inclusion of edible oil, sugar, salt, dals, vegetables, LPG and kerosene oil in the NFS bill.
He said that only providing ration without the inclusion of the other commodities in the NFS bill is mockery with the ration card holders.
He demanded the CAPD Minister to extend the last date of the new ration cards and it should be continuous process.
He appealed the Chief Minister to give balance sugar of the last three months to the people and also demanded at least 20 kg sugar and 30 liters kerosene oil on each ration card.
He further demanded to exempt the sale tax and VAT on the sale of petrol, diesel and LPG in the State.
