IMA Jammu, Urban Forestry Division launch green initiative at CHC Ramgarh

SAMBA, Aug 3: Indian Medical Association (IMA), Jammu, in collaboration with the Urban Forestry Division, spearheaded a large-scale green initiative today at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Ramgarh.
Held under the patronage of Dr D K Manyal, MLA and patron of IMA Jammu, the event drew wide participation from medical professionals, local residents and civic authorities.
Dr Pavan Malhotra, president of IMA Jammu, led the efforts, underscoring the intrinsic connection between ecological balance and human well-being. “Nurturing greenery is not merely an act of beautification—it’s an investment in public health and our collective future,” he stated.
Senior office bearers of IMA Jammu, including honorary secretary Dr Sanjeev Narang and vice president Dr Arun Arora, were actively involved, reinforcing the Association’s commitment to public welfare beyond clinical responsibilities.
Dr T R Raina, chief advisor to IMA Jammu, stressed the need for continued collaboration between healthcare and environmental sectors to combat the dual challenges of pollution and lifestyle-related diseases.
Block Medical Officer Ramgarh, Dr Lakhwinder Singh, along with the full team of medical and paramedical staff at CHC Ramgarh, joined hands to enhance the green footprint of the facility.
The Urban Forestry Division played a crucial role by providing technical support to ensure sustainable maintenance and growth.
