UDHAMPUR, Dec 5: Police today seized illicit liquor from a house at Gandtop under the jurisdiction of Police Station Basantgarh.
Based on a specific information, a team of Police Station Basantgarh conducted a raid in the house of Jameet Raj at village Gandtop and succeeded in recovery of seven litres of illicit Desi liquor and around 95 litres of Lahan from his house. The recovered liquor was seized while the Lahan was destroyed on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 38/2017 U/S 48 (E) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Basantgarh.
Meanwhile, in another success, Police seized 15 bottles of illicit liquor from Panchari area during naka checking at Kaith Gali. The accused bootlegger, identified as Shankar Singh of Narore , was arrested on the spot and a case FIR No. 11/2017 U/S 48 A Excise Act was registered at Police Station Panchari.
