SRINAGAR, June 17: Police in Kulgam today said to have arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
Acting on reliable information regarding bootlegging at Neehama Kulgam, a police party of Police Station DH Pora led by SHO DH Pora under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora raided the specified location.
“Person identified as Shakir Ahmad Shergojri son of Ghulam Qadir Shergojri resident of Gadihama Kulgam was caught red-handed while he was indulged in selling the Illicit Liquor,” police said.
On checking, 06 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. “He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” police said, adding that a case FIR number 67/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station DH Pora and investigation initiated.
