JAMMU, July 16: Baspur Police recovered illegal sold Government ration and arrested two persons including son of ration depot owner.
As per police sources, a team from Border Police Post (BPP) led by ASI Mohinder Singh laid a naka and seized a tractor trolley carrying Government ration meant for public distribution.
A total of 46 bags of rice, 110 bags of flour and 69 bags of wheat were recovered and driver of the vehicle identified as Inderjeet, son of Munshi Ram of Baspur was arrested.
During sustained questioning, the accused driver disclosed that he had to supply Government ration to Vikram Singh of Dablehar but was taking the same to sell to Kala Ram, son of Inder Ram of Fatehpur Camp at higher rate in order to earn more money illegally.
One more person identified as Rakesh Singh, son of Bhikham Singh Chib (owner of ration depot) of Choga, Tehsil RS Pura was also arrested.
A case under FIR Number 146/2021 under Sections 409 and 120-B IPC and 3/7 EC Act has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SHO RS Pura Inspector Jai Pal Sharma and SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan.
