JAMMU, May 26: A Forest team from Jammu Division dismantled an illegal saw mills owned and operated by one Puran Chand at Miran Sahib on R S Pura Road today,
A Forest team of Jammu Forest Division led by Ajit Chander, Range Officer, Bahu, under the supervision of DFO Jammu, Dr VS Senthil Kumar, launched operation and dismantled the mill. There was resistance from the owner but the situation was affectively handled by team and the parts of saw mill were seized and brought to Forest Complex, Gladni Jammu.
The Forest Offence Report (FOR) has been registered against owner of the saw mill for violation of SRO 103 and under various sections of J&K Forest Act. The Range Officer has filed the cases before the DFO Jammu for initiating of confiscation proceeding.
