Sir,
Plantation is a healthy step for congenial atmosphere but it should not become an impediment for the common masses. Now-a-days it has become a common phenomenon to get illegal plantation in lanes/bye-lanes by projecting the name of ex-Ministers/MLAs, Councilors etc for vested interests. The glaring example of such a case is of Ward No. 40, Vishal Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu where one plant was planted and a tree guard with JMC label fixed on it. When a team of JMC Jammu came to remove this encroachment, they were given to understand that the plant has been planted by ex-MLA of the area, supported by a telephone call from a Councilor of the Ward. It was only with the personal intervention of the Commissioner and the AC(R), JMC Jammu that this illegal and unlawful encroachment has been cleared.
Therefore, my earnest request and appeal is that the name and fame of our ex-MLAs etc. should not be used for indulging in any unwarranted and illegal activities which hamper the sincere action of Govt functionaries.
