KATHUA, Mar 13: The residents of village Hut- Maska of Basholi tehsil held a protest demonstration in front of DC office here, today against the illegal mining, in Sewa river by Himachal Pradesh based stone crusher.
The protesters in large number led by Sarpanch, Balak Ram, Karter Chand, Chet Ram and Jodh Singh  of Hut, Maska, Sandbar and it’s adjoining areas reached here in DC office and submitted a memorandum to DC. They also raised protest against the district administration and district Mining Department.

While addressing they alleged that a stone crusher is run by Himachal based people in Sewa river without any permission since many years creating nuisance and damage to the forest. The local people also facing environment threat as air and noise pollution makes atmosphere hazardous.
On the complaints of local people the stone crusher was sealed by district administration and district Mining Department but the crusher owner dared to remove the seal and started functioning of crusher illegally.
They demanded stern action against the culprit daring to run crusher illegally and posing a threat to environment and property of the State. They warned the Government to stop such illegal practice otherwise people may be forced to come on the road .
