Illegal immigrants pose threat to peaceful Jammu city: Randhawa

JAMMU, Aug 26: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Vikram Randhawa, today said that illegal immigrants like Bangladeshis and Rohingyas pose grave threat to the peaceful environment of the City of Temples.

He expressed hope that the deportation of these illegal immigrants would be started soon by the Government so that the people of Jammu may feel safe.
Randhawa, who is also the convener of the Jammu Bachao Andolan (JBA) while addressing media persons at Press Club here today, said that the JBA was fighting since long demanding deportation of all the illegal immigrants from Jammu.
He said that Union Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, who recently visited Jammu, has made the MHA stand clear on deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis after high-level review of security situation in Jammu.
“JBA was fighting for this since long and series of protest and demonstration were organized to draw the attention of the Government to this burning issue”, he said, adding, JBA has submitted various memorandums to concerned authorities urging them to deport these illegal immigrants with immediate effect.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ahir has said that clear instructions have been given to the Government to identify the colonies to these illegal immigrants and they will be deported at appropriate time.
While welcoming the decision of the MHA, Randhawa offered all types of help to the Government in identifying the colonies of these illegal immigrants.
