NEW DELHI: Now, IITs across the country will upskill teachers and train the school students to crack engineering entrance exams besides a free app titled ‘IIT – Pal’ would be further extended, and be made available along with handholding support through the SWAYAM portal.
IIT- Pal is an app designed to help the students in preparing for the JEE Advanced Exam. Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar briefing the media after attending meeting of Council of IITs here on Monday said that IITs will mentor not only five engineering colleges but also the same number of schools in its vicinity where they will upskill the teachers and prepare students for making their career in engineering.
Mr Javadekar also said that the existing IIT-Pal app would provide lectures, tutorials, study material through SWAYAM portal, besides discussion forum where students can ask queries and trial exams will also be conducted. The app already contains more than 600 lectures of Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. “All these initiatives have been planned and will be offered to the students from next year onwards free of cost.
