IIT Jammu signs MoU with C-DAC under NSM

JAMMU, Mar 27: As part of the National Supercomputers Mission (NSM) by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) will set up Param Rudra, a top-notch supercomputing facility, at IIT Jammu, boosting the Institute’s computing capacity four-fold.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with C-DAC, an Autonomous Scientific Society under MeitY, Government of India.
The formal signing ceremony took place virtually with Prof Manoj Singh Gaur (Director of IIT Jammu) and E Magesh (Director General of C-DAC) along with Dr Sanat Kumar Tiwari (Associate Professor) and Pirzada Gowhar Arfaat (Technical Officer) from IIT Jammu, and Ashish Ranjan (Associate Director, HPC-Tech Group, C-DAC-Pune) and Deepu C V (Joint Director, HPC-Tech Group, C-DAC-Pune), in attendance.
The Param Rudra incorporates the latest cutting-edge hardware and software technologies, with a significant portion of its components being manufactured and assembled in India, aligning with the Make in India initiative of the Government of India.
This collaboration positions the institute to make significant strides in research and innovation while also contributing to regional development goals through the sharing of resources and expertise.
