IIM Sirmaur organizes 1st edition of ‘Sampreshan’

JAMMU, Feb 22: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur conducted the first edition of “Sampreshan”, the annual Agile Forum of the Institute.
The programme was organized by Consulere – the consulting club of IIM Sirmaur, to enlighten the students with sheer knowledge of consulting through various topics and experts from industry.
In the first panel of the event, Sudeep Mehrotra, Managing Director, Alvarez & Marsal, introduced the topic, “Consulting Dynamism: Coping up with the quick and fast-changing 21st century and highlighted its relevance in the current consulting industry.
Jagannarayan Padmanabhan, Director- CRISIL, spoke about the Information asymmetry and how the pandemic levelled the field for all stakeholders. He talked about the changes and progress in the consulting sector and how organizations are adapting to the hybrid models while collaborating and interacting with the customers.
Ankit Agarwal, Principal at Tata Strategic Management Group spoke about the importance of being open to new experiences and experiments to create meaningful impacts while Ashish Sharma, Co-Founder and Director at BRIDGEi2i Analytics Solutions Group, expressed that there is going to be a lot of change in the way businesses would operate in the next few years.
In the second panel of the event, Srinivas Gunta, Faculty in Strategic Management area, IIM Indore, introduced the topic, “Break the wall: Navigating through cross-border landscape”, to the audience and highlighted its relevance in the current consulting industry.
Abhinav Johri, Director at Digital Consulting, EY, spoke about the various fundamentals of consulting industry and gave fruitful insights to the students while Sameer Mathur, Senior Principal – Accenture strategy, spoke about current trends in the technical infrastructure in the Indian and global context. Akshat Dikshit, Director, PwC, spoke about the importance of resilience and having a robust supply chain infrastructure.
In the third panel of the event, Arup Majumdar, CEO, Trariti Consulting, introduced the topic, “Gold Mining: Discovering the brightest minds” to the audience and highlighted its relevance in the current consulting industry.
K U Srinivason, Director Partner, CDSC talked about the various dynamics of consulting as a career and industry as well. Santosh Sharan, Partner, Positive Momentum Limited spoke about the possibilities of going into a consulting job with the many challenges the students have to face in order to succeed in the Industry while Pavan Valluri, Director, Consulting at CGI spoke about the importance of practical knowledge.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Prof Shashi Kant Srivastava threw light on the significance of the event.
