JAMMU, Aug 18: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu successfully wrapped up its 7th HR conclave, with day 2 focusing on leadership, healthcare, and career growth.
The event featured key themes like “Shattering the Glass Ceiling: Strategies for Inclusive Leadership,” “Healthcare Delivery at Your Doorstep: The New Era of Medical Assistance,” and “From Intern to Insider: Securing a Full-Time Career.”
The day began with a keynote by Aparna Vattikuti, Director of HR at Parexel, who highlighted the importance of a positive work culture.
She noted that, according to the Mercer report, workplace culture ranks just behind job security and fair pay in job satisfaction.
She also emphasized the need for human involvement in the age of AI.
Priya Ranjan Kumar, Vice-President and Head of HR at JSW Steel, shared insights on inclusive leadership and career management.
He discussed the balance between salary, work culture, and brand value, and the benefits of management internship programs in reducing attrition.
He also stressed the importance of agility, continuous learning, and social intelligence in career growth.
A panel on “Shattering the Glass Ceiling,” moderated by Dr Gaana J from IIM Jammu, featured HR leaders from Amazon, Tata Strive, and Ascenso Tyres.
The discussion emphasized the need for long-term commitment and aligning company policies with real inclusivity goals.
Another panel, led by Dr Vivek Mishra, focused on healthcare’s evolving landscape, with experts highlighting the importance of bridging the digital divide, embracing AI, and focusing on preventive care.
Empathy and intent were noted as crucial for effective healthcare delivery.
The final panel session, “From Intern to Insider,” offered practical career growth strategies. Industry leaders emphasized continuous learning, goal clarity, and aligning personal potential with performance.
The conclave concluded with a valedictory session where IIM Jammu’s leadership stressed the importance of applying theoretical knowledge practically.
