SRINAGAR, Oct 6: In order to take stock of the progress made by the 11th Basic Recruit Training Course, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Trainings/CIV PHQ, V. K. Singh visited Police Training School Manigam Ganderbal today. He also held a Durbar of the trainees and the staff in the Training School and issued on spot directions for the redressal of their grievances.
During his inspection, Mr. Singh enquired about the different aspects of basic training being imparted to the recruits in different fields of policing. He was told that 915 trainees have completed seven months of training and are expected to pass out in the end of this year. The recruits are acquainted with the latest techniques of policing, besides making them versant with the laws of Indian Panel Code and Police Rule.
The IGP emphasised upon the trainees staff to impart trainings to the recruits making them able to face any situation in the field. He said that special focus should be given to make the trainees versant of human rights and discipline bound. He said that latest techniques of training introduced by the Jammu and Kashmir Organization have proved useful to get desired results.
Addressing a Durbar of recruits and the staff, Mr. Singh said that the policemen are directly involved in the service of the people. They have to face hostile situations while performing their professional duties in the field and they have to exhibit patience at every level. Being the representative at the ground level they have a big role to build the image of the Organization, said Mr. Singh.
Later, the IGP inspected the parade of recruits which was followed by a march past and cultural programme. He also inspected the quarter guard and other spots including model police station, training grounds, peripheral tracks, mess and dinning area.
