IGP reviews security arrangements for Republic Day

IGP Jammu, Dilbagh Singh reviewing security arrangements in a meeting at Jammu on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Dec 19: IGP Jammu Dilbagh Singh today reviewed security arrangements for the forthcoming Republic Day in a meeting which was attended by DIGs and  SSPs besides Army/CRPF & Central Intelligence Agencies.
Mr. Singh discussed various security arrangements to be made for the smooth and incident free celebration of Republic Day. A team of officers comprising SSP Security ,SSP Jammu , SP CID SB Jammu, have been tasked with the responsibility for visiting the areas in and around the Stadium i.e venue for celebration and take security measures to secure the place, besides DIG traffic has been directed to make proper plan to ensure  uninterrupted movement of public transport/ private vehicles alongwith movement of protected persons.
In the meeting, a need for coordination among sister agencies was felt to provide fool-proof security to the VVIPs and all participating people.
Mr Singh exhorted the officers to remain extremely vigilant and alert during the Republic Day celebration.
Further, law and order arrangements were also discussed to handle any unforeseen events during up -coming Christmas Day celebration and another major forthcoming event for which preparations must start right now to have safe and peaceful atmosphere and smooth celebration of New year.
The IGP also stressed that approach of the Jammu Police needs to be people friendly ensuring best possible security environment with least inconvenience.
