JAMMU, Sept 6: Nineteen officers from all the three services of the Armed Forces presently undergoing the 43rd Higher Air Command Course of different States of the country had a briefing session with Mukesh Singh Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, at Zonal Police Headquarters, here today.
During interaction, IGP briefed the officers with regard to the challenges being faced by police and security forces in view of militancy, crime and law and order front in the State.
He also briefed the officers regarding the role of J&K Police in border management both along the IB as well as along the LOC. He briefed those regarding different phases of militancy in Jammu region and the role played by the J&K Police in countering the militancy.
IGP also explained them the importance of human intelligence as well as technical intelligence in countering the terrorist activities as well as in maintaining law and order. The development in the Jammu region post abrogation of Article 370 and Art- 35A and steps taken by JKP in this regard was also explained.
Singh responded to the queries of the officers on various aspects of policing, social media management and de-radicalisation.
