IGP for improvement in investigation to increase conviction rate

REASI, July 10: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Dr SD Singh instructed all the supervisory officers to improve the quality of investigation so that conviction rate could be raised especially in heinous nature case.
He said this during a meeting in District Police Office Reasi, which was attended by DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Virender Sharma, SSP Reasi Tahir Bhat and all GOs including of district Reasi here today.
After interacting with the officers a detailed power point presentation with regard to crime, present prevailing security situation of district police and various challenges being faced by the district police was given by SSP Reasi. A review of pending under investigation cases was also carried out.
IGP also instructed the officers to be polite and sympathetic especially in their dealings. Thereafter, a detailed deliberation was held with regard to the smooth functioning of the district police.
Later, a meeting was held at DPL Reasi by the IGP Jammu Zone, in which around 12 officers and officials expressed their personal grievances, which were sympathetically heard. IGP said that all the genuine concerns would be looked into on priority.
IGP while speaking said that the issues pertaining to better accommodation, buildings, water and other facilities will be looked into with a futuristic approach. He laid emphasis for conducting a plantation drive in DPL in this rainy season. Moreover, allotment of funds and other material supplies would be looked into by the ZPHQ on priority. He impressed upon the jawans to give up all kinds of bad addictions for which he said experts can be asked to held camps at district level. He emphasised on the police personnel to do their duty quite honestly and with good spirit.
Later, a meeting was also organised at DC office in which many senior and responsible citizens of district Reasi participated. Many issues were raised by them including organization of sports activities under civic action programme at Reasi to prevent youth from going into wrong hands of drug abuse.
Dr Singh promised to provide each and every help wherever possible in near future also.
