JAMMU, Aug 19: IGNOU Regional Centre (RC) Jammu started Student Facilitation Centre for facilitating students for submitting various forms online. The Online Student Facilitation Centre at RC is monitored by Assistant Regional Director with supporting staff.
Making the digital payment system more convenient, IGNOU RC Jammu installed Point of sale (PoS)/Swipe machine at the Front Desk in its Canal Road office premises for all cashless transactions in respect of various services being provided to the students. Now, the students can pay using debit or credit cards for all services like issue of duplicate Identity Card, issue of Migration certificate, change of elective/course, etc.
Besides this, IGNOU is providing fee exemption for Schedule Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates for all Bachelor, Diploma and Certificate programmes offered through Common Prospectus. Despite the fact that the admissions are carried out through online mode only, the Centre is also accepting application forms from SC/ST/transgender candidates in offline mode as well without Programme Fee.
In yet another welcome move, IGNOU decided to give full fee exemption to transgender in all its academic programmes with an aim to integrate this special group into the mainstream. The study material will also be provided to these candidates free of cost. This move not only helps transgender to get education free of cost but will also help them to get an inclusive environment.
