SRINAGAR, Oct 13: In continuation with its efforts to provide better and effective Learner Support Services, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar organized an orientation programme of part time functionaries of Learner Support Centre SC 1202 (Govt Amar Singh College Srinagar).
The programme was attended by Regional Director IGNOU Srinagar Dr Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar, Assistant Regional Director Dr Mudasir Hassan Bhat, Coordinator Professor Mujeeb Kawoosa, Assistant Coordinator Professor Kounser Muzamil, all the section heads of Regional Centre Srinagar and part time staff of LSC-1202.
The session was formally moderated by Assistant Regional Director, and conducted by Regional Director IGNOU RC Srinagar. The Regional Director briefed the role of part time staff of Learner Support Centre (LSC) referred to as an essential part of academic services provided to the learners of IGNOU.
The Regional Director enlightened the importance and need of orientation programmes for strengthening the Student Support Services by bridging the communication gaps among the learners, Learner Support Centre and Regional Centre Srinagar for the smooth conduct and functioning of Regional Centre Srinagar to carry forward the mandate of the University to democratic higher education among the common masses of the Kashmir valley.
Another orientation program was virtually conducted by Regional Director Regional Centre Srinagar with the coordinators of Leh, Kargil and Principals of ITI’s of Ladakh. The Regional Director took the stock verification of ongoing academic services provided by Learner Support Centres of Leh and Kargil. The Regional Director also carried deliberation with the ITI Principals of Ladakh in view of establishment of extension centers at ITIs as per the MoU signed by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India with IGNOU for initiating IGNOU extension centers at the ITIs all across the country.
In the virtual meet, the Regional Director emphasized upon the better Student Support Services to the learners pertaining to Ladakh region due to their hardship faced by the IGNOU learners and special attention to access the learners for achieving academic excellence through IGNOU. The meeting was attended by all the part time functionaries of LSC of Ladakh region, ITI Principals and all the section heads of the Regional Centre Srinagar.
