JAMMU, Oct 16: Induction programme for the fresh learners of IGNOU was conducted by Study Centre at Government MAM College Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Dr Joginder Kumar Yadav , Regional Director IGNOU Jammu, Dr Ajeet Angral, Principal MAM College Jammu, Dr Anil Kumar Ganjoo, Coordinator of the Study Centre 1232 and Asstt Coordinators IGNOU Study Centre1232, Dr Muzammil Hussain, Dr Ashok Kumar, Dr Anoop, Dr Kuldeep Singh, Prof Poonam Sharma and other supporting staff.
The coordinator welcomed the fresh learners and explained about the courses of IGNOU and its importance. He discussed in detail various programmes being run in study center 1232. He further advised the fresh learners to be punctual for the counseling sessions for their own benefit and assured the learners that more number of counseling sessions would be conducted if they turn up in large numbers
Dr Joginder Kumar Yadav explained about the scheme of study in distance learning mode procedure of examination, evaluation system, counseling sessions and facilitation to the learner by Regional Center and the Study Centre. He also informed the learners that IGNOU is providing free study for SC/ST candidates in Bachelors Degree, for weavers community in BPP and CLP, for Transgenders in all programmes and he further stated that all the procedures of admission and other processes have been made available online.
Dr Ajeet Angral explained the importance of learning either through open or conventional mode and advised the learners that they should take their studies seriously and pursue their goal with dedication. He further advised them to be disciplined in their approach towards their studies and to make the best use of the facilities, counseling sessions etc being provided by the Study Centre Govt MAM College, Jammu.
At the end, session was thrown open for questions / queries /grievances. Various questions were raised by the students and were answered by the members in a very satisfactory manner.
