JAMMU, Jan 16: In line with the Prime Minister’s announcement to celebrate January 16 as the National Startup Day to promote the startup culture at the grassroot level across India, Regional Centre Jammu organized a webinar through online platform on the occasion.
The webinar was attended by the officials and staff of the Regional Centre, Coordinators, Programme In charges of Learner Support Centres under Jammu students and other stakeholders of the University. The resource person of the special webinar was Prof Sameer Gupta, Director and Head, The Business School, University of Jammu.
Dr Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director I/C, said that celebrating National Startup Day is a significant recognition of the hard work and dedication of entrepreneurs and growing startups from different sectors.
Prof Sameer Gupta informed about the basic requirements and procedures that need to be adopted by the budding entrepreneurs having innovative ideas in the Jammu and Kashmir UT. He also informed about the Government assistance to budding entrepreneurs through JKEDI like agencies. He informed that earlier only big businesses in the metro cities were prospering, but with the initiatives like Startup India today there youth from poor and ordinary families engaged in developing start-ups and as a result lakhs are getting employment.
Dr Asha Upadhyay, Assistant Regional Director, said that with the help of technology businesses across all sectors are becoming increasingly digital and it has opened numerous opportunities which were previously unimaginable.
Dr Vikram Singh, Assistant Regional Director, presented the “vote of thanks” and informed that the year 2022 has been a turning point for startups where the number of startups has increased manifold and National Startup Day marks a historical period in the development of India’s economy.
