JAMMU, June 4: Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Contractors’ Association, Jammu today staged a sit-in protest at Irrigation Complex, Canal Road, Jammu.
A large number of registered contractors participated in the protest under the presidentship of Subhash Chander Sharma. All the office bearers of the association also participated in the protest.

Reiterating their demand for release of their payments on account of work done by them in last seven years under AIBP, SDRF, de-silting and languishing projects of all canals in Jammu, they raised slogans against the authorities for not releasing their payments.
The protesting contractors decided that no work would be taken in hand till their all claims were settled. Not even a single contractor participated in e-tendering process of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department.
