ICDS organizes awareness camp

UDHAMPUR, Nov 27: An  awareness camp was organized today in Neeli Nallah by ICDS Project Udhampur, regarding the non-formal pre-school education in Anganwari Centres.
A  number of people from  five Panchayats,  including Sarpanches, Panches, Supervisors, Anganwari Workers and Anganwari Helpers participated in the camp,  main idea of which  was to make people aware about the  Pre-school activities in the Anganwari Centres and its importance like social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of the children.
The participants were also given information about Immunization of  the children and of the pregnant women, regular growth monitoring of the children, importance of Iron and Folic Acid to the pregnant women, healthy food to the pregnant women, mothers milk  for first six months to the children, etc. They were also made aware about the other services of ICDS Scheme.
The CDPO Udhampur, Amit Singh Manhas directed the Supervisors to pay surprise visits to the Anganwari Centres and also directed the Anganwari Workers and Anganwari Helpers to keep the Anganwari Centres neat and clean, to keep the nutrition in hygienic way and to increase the strength of beneficiaries.
This all was done under the supervision of District Programme Officer Udhampur,  Sanjay Gupta.
