JAMMU, Feb 9: A formal prize distribution ceremony for the recently organized 2nd National Business Plan Competition was organized by International Centre for Cross-Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM) at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat of University of Jammu.
The brief and simple ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma, who awarded cash prizes to the first three winning teams based on the judgement of independent jury.
The first cash prize (cheque) amounting to Rs 10,000 was presented to Anuj Sharma and Samit Jain, MBA (IB) students at ICccR & HRM for their business plan titled ‘Dirt- B-Gone’ Pvt. Ltd. The second cash prize amounting to Rs 5000 was awarded to Niyati Kapoor & Ritika Thakur, MBA students of MIET, Jammu for their business proposal titled ‘Innovation & Creation’. Kunal Jain and Agni Tikoo, MBA (IB) Semester IV students of ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu, received third prize cheque amounting to Rs 3000 on behalf of their team for the business plan titled ‘Hosiery Uno Pvt. Ltd’.
The business plan titled ‘Dirt- B-Gone’ Pvt Ltd, the project focussed to provide digital platform to all sections of people for accessing laundry services ranging from washing, ironing to dry cleaning with pick and drop facility in an environmentally friendly backdrop in a professional manner. Similarly, the business plan titled Innovation & Creation, the project aimed at continual innovation by crafting eco friendly products and to create economic opportunity for women workforce by collecting scrap from scrap dealers that can be reprocessed for manufacturing new goods. And business plan titled Hosiery Uno Pvt. Ltd aimed to provide B2B digital platform for hosiery sector and its market in order to facilitate the supply and the apparent operations between the wholesalers and household manufacturers in order to enhance a mechanism for the growth and revival of household manufacturers.
On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor interacted with the students and emphasized upon the essence of idea sharing, consolidation and its final execution, that need to be critically evaluated in light of market opportunities. He appreciated the initiatives at ICccR & HRM in promoting the culture of entrepreneurship amongst the students.
Earlier, Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director International Centre for Cross-Cultural Research and Human Resource Management, JU, informed that the winning entries of business plan are being recommended to JKEDI for further support and facilitation.
It may be mentioned that Business Plan competition is organized at ICccR & HRM annually where in the participating teams showcase their business acumen as potential proposals.
Prof P N Sharma, HOD (MBA) MIET, Abhinay Gupta MBA (IB) alumni and others were present during the ceremony while Dr Isha Sharma coordinated the event.
