I have nothing to hide: Vadra on Haryana Govt probe

NEW DELHI, May 15:
Reacting to the Haryana Government instituting a probe to investigate land deals struck during the previous Congress regime, Congress president Sonia Gandhiâ’s son-in-law Robert Vadra today said he had nothing to hide and expressed hope that the inquiry would not be used for political vendetta.
The Haryana Government today instituted  a judicial commission of inquiry, chaired by former Delhi High Court judge Justice S N Dhingra, to investigate land deals struck during the previous Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congess Government, especially those involving Mr Vadra.
Mr Vadra, in a statement, said, “An enquiry has been ordered by the governemnt of Haryana. Let us await its outcome. Neither me, nor anyone associated with me, has anything to hide.
Claiming that there was complete transparency in all land deals involving his company, he said, “Compliance of all laws were followed in a completely transparent manner.
He also hoped that the inquiry would not be used for political vendetta. “I sincerely hope that an enquiry will not be used for political vendetta.” The judicial  commission, appointed by the State Govenrment, has been asked to submit its report within six months.
The commission would probe circumstances under which licences for development of commercial colonies were granted to “some entities” in sector 83, Gurgaon; whether they were eligible for licences under the applicable laws prevalent in Haryana, including in the Department of Town and Country Planning.  It would also look into whether the transfer of licences by the original licensee within a short period of time to other entities violated any laws; and whether the planning department had contemplated the transactions that had taken place before or after the grant of licence, particularly with reference to the loss of revenue to Government.
