Srinagar, May 15 : Welcoming the probe ordered by the Divisional Commissioner, the president of the Municipal Council Anantnag, Hilal Ahmad Shah, today said that he is open for any kind of enquiry but added that there were some corrupt people in the MC who wanted to sabotage his pro-people initiative.
Addressing a press conference in Anantnag, Shah dared the probe committee to dig out the ‘illegal building permissions’ he has been accused of granting. He said he was ready for every kind of probe and would cooperative with them.
“If we have done anything wrong in building permissions, let the committee underscore that. We are ready to cooperate,” said Shah.
He however, accused Director Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir and other officers of shielding some corrupt people in the MC.
Shah said that he and his other councilors wanted to bring development in the MC areas but alleged that Executive Officer was a major impediment in achieving the desired results.
Shah accused EO of having granted various ‘illegal building ‘permissions himself and said that needs to be probed.
