‘Hybrid energy in India is need of the hour’ : Rashii Gupta

Hyderabad, June 4: Vision Mechatronics Private Limited Founder and Managing Director Dr Rashii Gupta opined that India needs hybrid energy and it is the need of the hour.
Delivering a talk on Energy Storage Solutions: The Way Ahead at the 58th WiseViews Leadership Conversations conducted by ICFAI here on Friday evening, Dr Gupta, who is also fondly known as Batterywali of India, explained the forms of energy that are available and how we can create a clean and resourceful energy which is environmental friendly and commercially viable.
Solar energy is clean energy and has a lot of advantages. Even in a scenario of a power failure due to the breakdown of the power grid or in the generator run by diesel, the solar energy can be more impactful which uses the stored energy and moreover it is the natural form of energy, she said.
Dr. Rashi Gupta also stated that very early in her career she decided that she wanted to be an entrepreneur and from 2015 onwards she started working on the clean forms of resourceful energy mediums.
She believes that Lithium ion batteries and Sodium ion batteries will rise in future and the Central Government is promoting its growth by giving tax exemptions to the manufacturing companies of electric vehicles.
The performance and safety of EVs are also linked with their batteries. Damaged or inferior quality batteries can pose major safety risks, the Vision Mechatronics Founder pointed out.
We need to understand the relevant safety guidelines and protocols of the battery management to avoid mishaps.
More and more charging points are made available to the customers to encourage them to go for the electric vehicles. Dr Rashi Gupta said. (UNI)
