Srinagar, Oct 29: Police have arrested a man and his father for allegedly setting ablaze his wife over dowry demand in South Kashmir’s Pampore Town of Pulwama district.
A police officer said they arrested Adil Gani Lone, the husband of 26-year old woman, for allegedly setting ablaze his wife at Namblabal in Pampore. He said a case under FIR number 89/2016 under Sections 498A, 354, 306/511 of RPC has been registered against the accused and his father has also been arrested.
He said the victim’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law are absconding and the searches are underway to nab them. The family members of the victim, who is lying in critical condition at SMHS Hospital here, held a protest in press enclave in Lal Chowk area of summer capital, seeking justice for their daughter.
