JAMMU, Sept 17: Gandhi Nagar police arrested a husband for killing his wife over doubts of having illicit relations.
As per police sources, on August 24, Pooja Devi, wife of Krishna of Panchrukhi, District Sewan, Bihar, at present Sector No. 6, Near Gurudwara Nanak Nagar was found murdered by strangulating her throat.
Acting on this, a case under FIR Number 215/15 under Section 302 RPC was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigations were entrusted to SI Sohit Trikha.
During the course of investigation, the family members of deceased alleged that their daughter was murdered by her husband Krishna as their daughter had already complained to them about the harassment/torture, being faced by Pooja at the hands of her husband.
As the husband of the deceased went underground, police smelled something fishy and carried out intensive raids in different areas and finally apprehended the husband of the deceased.
During sustained questioning, he confessed his crime and stated that he murdered his wife because he had doubts that his wife was having illicit relations.
During questioning it also come into surface that the accused was earlier also arrested by police station Bagh-e-Bahu in connection with murder of his real brother and was presently on bail.
Police team led by SI Sohit Trikha made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP City South Udhay Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
