JAMMU, June 2: As the ongoing hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers (10+2), entered into 109th day today without any response from the Government, the protesters held a strong demonstration near Press Club Jammu.
They raised slogans against the Government and in support of their demand. They vowed to continue their struggle till logical conclusion and warned to further intensify the agitation if no decision on their demand is taken by the Government in next Cabinet meeting.
The agitating Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidated employees after rendering seven years of services.
Today’s protest demonstration was addressed by Arun Bakshi, president of Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Association, Jeevan Kumar, press secretary and others. They said that Government should avoid its apathetic attitude towards them and adopt sympathetic way to settle the problem of the highly educated Contractual Lecturers (10+2) who are on hunger strike since February 14, 2017.
