JAMMU, Mar 2: The commuters as well as the people going to attend the marriage ceremonies at different places were put to hardships and had to return from the mid way due to a huge traffic jam on Jammu-Akhnoor road tonight.
There was a huge jam on the road right from Paloura to Muthi and hundreds of commuters including men, women and children were put to huge problems.
The people who had to attend the marriage ceremonies at various places could not reach there and had to return mid way. The passengers who were trapped in traffic jam raised a hue and cry. They also criticized the traffic police and administration for mismanagement.
The residents of the surrounding areas said that they have been facing the problem daily and huge traffic jam is witnessed on Akhnoor road right from Paloura to Muthi every day.
The people also rang Police Control Room (PCR) to find out the reasons for such a huge jam and Control Room flashed the message to Domana Police Station to restore the traffic on the road. However till last reports came in the jam was still continue and huge queues of vehicles were on the road.
The people said that the failure of Government to widen the Akhnoor road has been the cause of the repeated traffic jams on the road and the Government has failed to take cognizance of the same.
