BONZURI, BANDIPORA : 27 Rashrtiya Rifles Battalion at Paribal Tekri, busted a terrorists’ hideout and recovered large cache of arms and ammunition from Bonzuri Forest area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Bandipora, here today.
On receipt of intelligence, multiple teams of The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion carried out search and destroy operation in Bonzuri Forest. When search of the area was being carried out, a militant hideout between large stones was busted. The recovery included war like stores, including one AK-47, eight magazines of AK- 47, 242 rounds of AK-47, two Chinese Pistols with three magazines and 22 rounds , five Chinese Grenades , 15 UBGL rounds , one binocular and one telescopic sight alongwith communication equipment and few utensils and cloths.
It is being suspected by the security agencies that the terrorists were planning a massive attack and the recovery of such a huge cache is definitely a big blow to the terrorists.
It is also an achievement for the Army, who is consistently working for maintenance of peace and harmony in the Valley. (agencies)
