JAMMU, Mar 8: A meeting of All J&K Housing Board Employees Association (JKHBEA), Jammu, was held here today under the chairmanship of its senior-vice-president, Bal Krishan Sharma to discuss problems faced by them and development activities within the Housing Board.
Addressing the meeting, Bal Krishan Sharma said it is unfortunate that Management of Housing Board has failed to stand on its commitments and fulfill their demands, which were earlier accepted by.
Suman Sharma, State secretary general of the Association said that the chairman, Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, had assured confirmation to the daily rated workers, who have been working for the past 18 years. It was also approved to provide pesionary benefits to Board employees at par with JDA or SDA employees. But to the grave disappointment of employees, the same have not been implemented till date, he lamented.
He demanded enhancement of gratuity to Rs 10 lakh, which was part of 6th Pay Commission, but not implemented till now. No vacant posts were filled up nor the DPC has been conducted properly, he maintained, adding besides these some other sectional demands are also pending.
The president of the Association said that we given enough time to the Housing Board for implementation of the demands and resolving their burning issues, but all in vain. Now the Association has no other alternative than going for strikes again.
