UDHAMPUR, May 19: A young housewife was found dead in a nallah at village Rasli Thakrai in Ramnagar while an elderly woman was knocked to death by a speeding car near Mand and three persons were injured in another road mishap.
According to Police, Rekha Devi, wife of Ashok Kumar of Rasli Thakrai was found dead in a nallah under mysterious circumstances. The body was spotted by some locals, who informed the Police.
After completion of legal formalities, Police handed over the body to family members for last rites while a case under Section 177 CrPC has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in a road accident, an elderly woman was knocked to death by a speeding car when she was crossing the road near Mand. The car bearing registration number JK02AR-2531 hit the woman, who was rushed to hospital where doctors declared her as brought dead. The deceased was identified as Swarna Devi (60) wife of Rattan Pal of Mand.
In a separate accident, a car bearing registration number JK02BM-4686 was hit by a truck JK02AP-7245 at Tamatar Morh National Highway near Kud resulting into injuries to Tarik Husan (35) son of Abdul Qaum of Doda, Abdul Qaum (55) son of Noor Mohd of Doda and Abdul Karim (26) son of Haji Noor Mohd of Mujua Doda.
