JAMMU, Oct 26: Pakistani Rangers last night resorted to heavy mortar shelling and border firing on the International Border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district causing extensive damage to some houses.

Reports said the Rangers started shelling and firing targeting Manyari and Chandre Chak villages of Hiranagar sector at 10.30 pm. The shelling continued throughout the last night.
Houses of Sunder Lal and Subash Chander suffered extensive damage while some other houses developed minor cracks.
Several people had narrow escape in the shelling.
However, there were no casualties or damage on the Indian side.
