SAMBA, Aug 24: BJP leader, Jangveer Singh Chiku, visited Dasiyan village of Samba district where two houses were damaged due to heavy rains during last few days and provided ration to the victims.
The BJP leader also assured all possible help to the victim Prakash Singh son Jaimal Singh. The victim Prakash Singh said that he had received financial help from the Government to build a pucca house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and he had started building a pucca house whose construction was going on. He said that due to the heavy rains and landslides during past few days one of his kachcha houses has completely damaged while the rooms of under construction house have also been damaged.
He said that a road is being constructed by the administration, but no bond has been made for the protection of the land, which led to soil erosion and damage to his house due to landslides. The BJP leader Jungveer Chiku said that he will try to get all possible help from the administrative officials.
Chiku and local Sarpanch of Kathua district, Jasbir Singh, said that a road was damaged in Dasseiya village three years ago, but till date a bundh was not constructed on the edges of the road due to which the landslide has occurred and house was damaged.
Chiku said that the administration should provide protection walls on both sides of the road or else a bigger tragedy could take place in future.
Sarpanch Jasvir Singh, BJP leader Narasimha Dayal, Panch Rajkumar and Panch Rafiq were also present on the occasion.
