KATHUA, May 25: A young house wife committed suicide by hanging herself while a driver died of an electric shock in two separate incidents in Kathua district today.
According to reports a young house wife identified as Sonika Devi, 31, daughter of Anchal Singh and wife of Shamsher Singh of village Uttar Barwal in tehsil and district Kathua committed suicide by hanging herself in her house this morning.
After the family members came to know of it they immediately shifted her to District Hospital Kathua where doctors declared her as brought dead.
The dead body of the lady was handed over to family members for last rites after autopsy at DH Kathua. A case under Section 174 has been also registered at PS Kathua in this regard.
Reports said that one tipper driver who has been identified as Paramjit Singh, 27, son of Mehar Singh of Ajh Nallah Amritsar Punjab received an electric shock of 11 kv line after his tipper bearing registration number PB02B 9977 was trapped in a ditch in Ravi basin while extracting sand from there today.
The driver died on spot. His body was brought to DH Kathua and later his family was informed by Lakhanpur Police which has registered a case under Section 174 in this regard. The body was handed over to family members after postmortem at DH Kathua for last rites.
