SRINAGAR: A meeting of the Committee on Petitions of Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of legislator Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar to discuss the status of pending petitions.
Legislators, R S Pathania, Gulzar Ahmed Wani and Noor Mohammad Sheikh attended the meeting and gave their suggestion regarding early settlement of the petitions before the Committee.
The Committee discussed petition of two Hazratbal Srinagar residents regarding alleged fraudulent sale of their land.
After threadbare discussions, the Committee directed the Revenue Department to handover the possessions of 4.6 kanals land to the petitioners which have already been identified and demarcated by the Department as per the directions of the Committee and submit a compliance report in this regard in its next meeting.
The Committee also discussed another petition given by the President Ayush Doctors Association Kashmir (ADAK).
Commissioner Secretary Revenue Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Commissioner Secretary GAD, Khurshid Ahmed, and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah also briefed the Committee about the reactions of the Departments and factual positions of the petitions lying pending before the Committee.
Among others, Secretary Legislative Assembly, M R Singh, senior officers of Revenue, Health and Medical Education, besides Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
