KATHUA, May 16: A residential house was turned into ashes in village Logate Morh, near here in devastating fire late last night .
The house belonged to Surinder Kumar. The cause of fire was not known as the family was sleeping in another room. The items and gold of a newly married son Kumar was also kept in the room which too turned into ashes. The fire tender reached the spot but till then the fire had done a huge damage and as per family’s estimate the loss was over Rs 10 lakh.
The family members said that they were sleeping in mid night and did not get signal that fire has broken out in their house. “But when a gas cylinder exploded with a big bang we became alert that some thing has happened,. When we came out of room we were shocked to se the devastating blaze”, they added.
They said all household goods including the marriage items, clothes , Gold Jewellery, food grain and all item turned into ashes.
They demanded compensation for their survival as there was nothing left in the house.
