JAMMU, Apr 7: A cameraman Sham Sunder of Take1 Television Network fell unconscious in Media Gallery of the Legislative Assembly during Question Hour this morning leading to adjournment of the Assembly for 10 minutes.
Sham Sunder was covering the Assembly proceedings when he suddenly fainted. The media personnel immediately escorted him out of the Gallery and shifted him to the Assembly dispensary from where he was referred to Super Specialty Hospital of the Government Medical College, Jammu.
Congress MLA and former Minister Usmaan Majeed pointed out some problem in the Media Gallery and sought adjournment of the House. Speaker Kavinder Gupta adjourned the House for 10 minutes.
NC MLA Devender Singh Rana reached the Media Gallery from the Assembly and inquired condition of the cameraman. He assured full help to the ailing cameraman.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh rang up GMC Principal Dr Ganshyam Dev Gupta and directed him for prompt and free treatment of the injured.
HoD Cardiology Department of the GMC Jammu Dr Sushil Sharma said Sham Sunder was suffering from hypertension and syncope.
“Evaluation is on and he is stable,” Dr Sharma said, adding all parameters of the cameraman were normal.
Health and Medical Education Minister Lal Singh, Education Minister Naeem Akhter, Minister of State for Education Priya Sethi and Devender Rana visited the ailing cameraman in the hospital and inquired his condition.
