JAMMU: Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami today reviewed post-flood operations in Reasi district of Jammu region and assured all possible help from the Centre for relief and rehabilitation of the victims.
Goswami, who took stock of the situation in a meeting chaired by him this afternoon, assured all help from the central government to the state to overcome the difficulties caused due to the last year’s devastating floods.
He said that a comprehensive report of his tour would be sent to the Government of India (GoI) as early as possible.
Goswami said that he was in the state to hear grievances of the flood victims and assured that he would take up their demands at the appropriate level.
“The area has witnessed development in various sectors, but there is a need for line departments concerned to gear up their efforts to give impetus to the developmental activities for strengthening delivery mechanism and giving a boost to tourism,” the Home Secretary said.
He asked all the officers to make optimum use of the available resources to provide better services to the people while stressing on the need for coordinated and dedicated efforts for strengthening the developmental initiatives.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner (Reasi) Shabir Ahmad Bhatt briefed Goswami about the post-flood situation and various developments works in the district. (Agencies)
