JAMMU, Jan 9: Home for Aged and Infirm, Amphalla (Jammu) distributed financial aid to the tune of Rs 500 per month to 16 aged persons who have attained 60 years or above age.
The aid was given in the office of the secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu in presence of Vijay Bahgotra, Secretary and ID Soni, president of the Home, respectively.
The decision to reach out and give aid to the aged persons was taken by the management of the Home as old age people generally hesitate to join Homes for the Aged due to social taboos.
The 16 aged persons to whom the aid was given today were identified by Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu under the guidance of Dinesh Gupta, Honorary Secretary of the Society.
